2. Introduction of the institute with the Mission Statement and Objective

       Our mission is to produce world class trained work force. As India is second largest populated country in the world. We at ITI Reckong Peo are working hard to tap this strength of the Nation. We are also committed to implement the policy of maximum utilization of machinery and equipments of the institute by introducing 2nd shift from 2005 and making institute available for training from 08 :30 am to 05:30pm.

    a. History of ITI Reckong Peo

                   Government Industrial Training Institute Reckong Peo was earlier known as Rural Industrial Training Institute and was under Industries department from May 1954 to June1983, it was merged in Technical Education department in July 1983 and upgraded as Industrial Training Institute and being run in Government building. Government Industrial Training Institute has its own land measuring 7 Bighas comprising Apple plant , Chilgoza and Almond trees. The sanction intake strength of Institute is 156 The trainees are undergoing training in 4 Engineering and 2 Non-Engineering Trades i.e. Electrician 1st and 2nd Unit, Mechanic Motor Vehicle 1st and 2nd Unit, Wireman, Welder, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Cutting & Sewing respectively.In addition to above Two Non-Engineering Trades viz Cutting & Sewing and Embroidery are also running in Industrial Training Institute for Women under this Institute. Besides above Trades one Computer Operator & Programming Assistant Trade is being run under State Counsel for Vocational Training (SCVT) free of cost exclusively for Tribal candidates of District Kinnaur and Spiti Sub-Division.
